I work with oil and acrylic to explore humanity's relationship with nature and our built environments. These paintings communicate the nuances that may go unnoticed through intense detail and color application. My work communicates the seen landscapes but provides an alternative vantage point.
I have been interested in art since I was a small child growing up in the countryside of Western New York. Deciding to pursue my passion, I received my BFA concentrating in painting and drawing, in 2011 at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. After undergraduate school I chose to explore the mountainous landscapes of the United States, which has greatly influenced the work that I make today. Most of my inspiration comes from my adventures hiking, backcountry snowboarding, split boarding and motorcycling. My work is a realistic reflection of the outdoor excursions that humankind can experience as active participants in nature.
