I started to crochet when I was about 10 years old. My grandma taught me and I have been doing so ever since. When I moved to Lake Tahoe in 2007, I needed garments to keep my family and myself warm in the winter months. Originally being from Southern California, we never really needed what you would call "warm clothes". Scarves and hats in Southern California were mostly a fashion garment rather than for actual warmth and comfort. Friends and others around town would always comment on my beanies, scarves, etc. and then began to ask if I could make them something too. I truly love to crochet and getting a chance to be creative. It is so relaxing for me. There is nothing better than being up early in the morning before the kids wake up and sit on the couch on a cold morning with my tea and crochet, pure heaven!
It is an amazing feeling to see people wear my items and to see they love them as much as I do.
